I’ve seen a lot of liberals with blog posts about why Bernie Sanders should not be elected the next President of the United States but I’ve not seen many blog posts on why he should be elected the next President of the United States. For those of you who do not know yes, I’m a Bernie Sanders supporter and I’m proud to be a Bernie Sanders supporter. Hillary Clinton supporters don’t like it when I’m this strong with my support of Senator Sanders, on Facebook and Twitter I’ve been called names like ‘radical’ ‘foolish’ ‘crazy’ that I’m ‘living in a fantasy world because Bernie would never beat a Republican’ that was a Clinton supporter on a Facebook group that wrote that to me but I digress. The next president of the United States needs to be someone that is not afraid of taking on the establishment in Washington DC, not someone like Hillary Clinton that will beholden to the establishment in Washington and will do the bidding of corporations and the billionaire class as Senator Sanders likes to say.
One of the reasons why Bernie Sanders should be the next President of the United States is because he cares about the average American. I know that some Clinton supporters may claim that she cares about the average everyday American that struggles to put food on the table for their family and struggle to pay their bills. However does Clinton support raising the minimum wage to fifteen dollars an hour? To be fair to her maybe she does but she has not come out strong enough in favor of a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage Senator Sanders has. Does Clinton favor a Medicare for all system? (Better known as Single-Payer system like Europe and Canada has) No she does not, some Clinton supporters claim that single payer is unrealistic and I’m living in a fantasy land for even thinking that it as a chance of passing Congress, but my question is how do you know what Congress would do if you do not even want to try? Even with the Affordable Care Act (Better known as Obamacare) there are still millions of Americans who are uninsured I know people that are still uninsured because they can’t afford private insurance but at the same time do not qualify for Medicaid because they make too much money. Sanders plan will help those uninsured Americans get insurance. Bernie Sanders will try and fight for what the poor and the middle class wants and need from their government. Does Clinton want to provide free tuition for hard working college students? The answer to that question is clearly no because just yesterday she came out in favor of a $350 million dollar ‘college affordability plan‘ that’s clearly not free tuition like Bernie Sanders wants this is called splitting the baby in politics trying to give both sides a little bit of something, this is not make progressives happy or conservatives who don’t want to help college students at all, so I don’t know why Clinton is bothering with this plan. I don’t think she’s going to get any new supporters with this plan.
Still not convinced why Bernie Sanders should be the next President of the United States okay then chew on these facts. Yesterday latest polling conducted by Franklin Pierce University/Boston Globe has Bernie Sanders leading Hillary Clinton 44% to 37%. This is the first poll that Senator Sanders has been ahead in since he’s announced that he was seeking the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. This poll clearly shows that Bernie Sanders is a real candidate for President and not someone that can be dismissed as a “fringe” candidate as the Mainstream media loves to call Bernie Sanders. This polling also shows that the Democratic party is not sold on Hillary Clinton being the so called frontrunner for the nomination because if the party was sold on her being the nominee then there would be no way that Bernie Sanders could ever catch Hillary Clinton. Lastly common sense should tell Clinton supporters that since the party rejected her candidacy in 2008 what would make her supporters think that we would just hand her the nomination in 2016? What would make you think that most Democrats would agree to just hand her the nominee without a fight? I’m a Bernie Sanders supporter and I will fight the Clinton nomination with everything I have and I’m sure that I’m not the only Bernie Sanders supporter that will do the same. Sorry Clinton supporters you have a real fight on your hands and let’s see who comes out on top.
